The tour begins at The Old Farmhouse at Öngulsstaðir farm at 6pm.
Inside you will discover the story of the Öngulsstaðir family and the long history of this remarkable house. It is a unique example of the houses built in 19th century Iceland, when rural people were beginning to move away from the traditional turf houses and different materials were being introduced. Whilst enjoying this tour you will have the opportunity to sample a few of the local beers made in North Iceland. (A selection of other drinks will be available).
From The Old Farmhouse we take a short walk up to Lamb Inn Restaurant where you will be served the speciality dish; roasted leg of lamb, with home made pickled red cabbage, sugar coated potatoes, green peas, gravy and home made rhubarb jam (Fish and vegetarian alternatives are available upon request).
For dessert you can choose from three traditional Icelandic dishes; The Icelandic Cream Cake, Skyr with cream and blueberries and a selection of home made and locally produced ice-creams.
After dinner we return to the Old Farmhouse where the tour ends.
